Wealth Demonstration
Project
The Wealth Demonstration Project transforms 256 Webster Avenue (formerly Speedy Slice) into a direct pathway for local
entrepreneurs to build lasting wealth. This initiative creates a unique opportunity for a local business owner to eventually
own the very space where their business grows.
We believe commercial property ownership is one of the most powerful tools for closing the wealth gap, strengthening
neighborhood businesses, and building long-term economic stability within our community.

How It Works
A local entrepreneur will be selected through a competitive application process guided by Connected Communities’ Economic Empowerment Committee. Applicants will be evaluated based on:
• Strength and feasibility of their business plan
• Alignment with community needs and values
• Potential for long-term success, supported by local market opportunities
The selected entrepreneur will launch and operate their business at 256 Webster Avenue. After one to three years of successful operations, they will have the opportunity to purchase the building, turning their hard work into ownership, equity, and generational opportunity.

A Cycle of Opportunity
To ensure this community asset continues creating impact for future generations, the project includes a Community Benefits Agreement with a right of first refusal. If the property owner ever decides to sell, Connected Communities will have the first opportunity to purchase the building back.
This creates a sustainable cycle of entrepreneurship, ownership, and community wealth-building that can continue benefiting local residents over time.
Project Status / Interested Entrepreneurs
We are currently working to secure funding for key building renovations and improvements needed to prepare the property for its future business owner.
Once renovation funding is secured, we will officially launch the entrepreneur application and selection process.
If you are interested in applying for this opportunity, would like to receive updates when applications open, or simply want to learn more about the project, please contact:
