Hillside Service Solutions is looking for a full time (40 hours/week) Cook. Candidates should be available Monday-Friday 6:30AM-4PM. 

Description

Under the general supervision of the Kitchen Supervisor, the Cook is responsible for the production of all food served within their assigned sites. The cook ensures that requirements for appropriate sanitation and safety levels are adhered to regarding preparation, quality, and cost control. This individual assists, as needed, with inventory control, catering, and café duties. This position is responsible for preparing all foods using standardized recipes, interacts with staff in a friendly professional manner, follows job flow, attends in-services and meetings as requested and completes special cleaning assignments. The Cook also works as a leader within the kitchen, and delegates tasks when assigned.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Works within our system to prepare food that is of the highest quality and safety measures following all Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point standards.
  • Works hand-in-hand with other kitchen staff, mentoring them in proper preparation techniques.
  • Completes cleaning and sanitizing tasks in a timely manner. Practices "clean as you go" technique. Labels and dates all products, fills out appropriate logs daily.
  • Uses inventory wisely and keeps management informed of quality issues as they arise.
  • Follows all department and HSS policies and procedures.

Requirements: 

High School or GED and 1-3 years of experience are required; Associates degree with 3-5 years of experience in in large-scale food production is preferred. Candidates must have a valid NYS driver's license and must meet agency driving and insurance standards.

Hillside Children's Center

Partner Service Center Operator

Hillside Children's Center in Rochester, NY is looking for a full time Partner Service Center Opeartor (Monday-Friday 8am-4:30PM).

Description/Requirements:

The Partner Service Center Operator is responsible for entering service requests received by telephone, email or fax into the Oracle Teleservice database. Requests include all those for technology, facilities, purchasing, landline and cell phones, special diets as well as assisting staff with the room reservation process. An additional component is the ability to triage information and discern when to contact a manager of the aforementioned departments for the purpose of immediate action.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Answers incoming calls, greets callers, and provides information while providing excellent customer service.
  • Enters all service requests whether by telephone, fax, or email into the Oracle Teleservice database in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Operates a busy switchboard with proficiency, in order to provide effective and excellent customer service.
  • Performs clerical duties such as filing.
  • Performs triage through escalation to program managers on issues that need immediate resolutions.
  • Works effectively with members of all teams within the agency. Learns and follows varied departmental processes.

High School Diploma or GED is required for this position. Candidates with an Associate's Degree and 1-2 years of experience are preferred.

Food Service Worker

Hillside Children's Center is looking for a Food Service Worker for their Food Service Program. The position is Mo=Fri as needed.

Description/Requirements:

The Food Service Worker is responsible for assisting in the safe preparation of all food served within the assigned sites within Hillside Family of Agencies under the general supervision of the Kitchen Supervisor. The food service worker ensures that requirements for appropriate sanitation and safety levels are adhered to regarding preparation, quality and cost control. Assembles orders to be transported out of the kitchen.

Per Diem Teacher

Essential Functions:

  • Under the general supervision of building principals, assistant principals and/or their designees, and in as efficiently, safely and completely a manner possible, the Per Diem Teacher provides continuity of quality instruction to RCSD students during the absence of the regular teacher.

  • Adheres to all RCSD policies and procedures to which regular teachers are subjected, as well as those outlined in the handbook and the current contractual agreement between the City School District of Rochester and the Per Diem Substitute Unit of the Rochester Teachers Association.

  • Follows, as completely as possible, established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which assigned and establishes and attempts to achieve classroom goals and objectives developed by the absent teacher.

  • Assumes responsibility for maintaining classroom discipline, not only while delivering curriculum, but also during lunch and recess periods when needed.  

  • Informs the absent teacher (via written communication) of classroom activities, i.e. work completed, homework assigned, any problems which occurred and methods used to solve them.  Performs other related duties as assigned by school building administrators.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

No certificate is offered by New York State specifically for per diem teaching.  Any New York State certificate or 4 year degree from an accredited college or university allows an individual to work as a Per Diem Teacher.
